RawNews1st – Kenner Police responded to a 9-1-1 call at approximately 2:00 am Friday morning in the 3700blk of Loyola Blvd regarding a carjacking incident in which one person was suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victims were confronted by two subjects in a black Honda who were armed and in a series of events, shot the victim.
The victims were from Florida and claimed they were meeting somebody at the location that they contacted through a dating app.
The other male victim was not harmed and refused to cooperate with authorities. The gunshot wound victim was transported to University Medical Center for treatment, it was determined his injuries were non-life threatening.
Kenner Detectives utilized crime cameras to identify the vehicle and located the vehicle parked in a residential neighborhood in Slidell.
Kenner Detectives worked with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office and executed a search warrant and seized the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle found 113 lbs of marijuana, and two handguns, one was loaded and has bullet casings similar to casings found on scene.
As a result of the investigation Amad Ford, 22, Slidell, LA was arrested for carjacking and aggravated battery.

The investigation is still ongoing and officers anticipate more arrests.
Kenner Police Chief Keith Conley commends the Patrolmen and Detectives that worked to bring this case to a swift resolution.
Conley assures residents that this does not appear to be a random act and the actions of all parties are going to continue to be investigated.
