New Jersey – A family in South Brunswick had a close call after a car went airborne and crashed near them outside of a Wendy’s.
The car hit an Audi that was in the drive-thru lane and caused both vehicles to hit the restaurant, the news release stated.
Both vehicles also struck outside tables in the same area where the family was eating.
The force of the impact shattered the restaurant windows and sent glass flying while people were inside.
Driving down Route 130 in a Toyota Corolla when they drove off-road and then hit a berm on the Wendy’s property, causing the car to go airborne.
“This is nothing short of a miracle that no one was seriously injured or killed in this crash,” said South Brunswick Police Chief Raymond Hayducka.
It is believed that the driver of the Toyota may have suffered from a medical episode, which caused the initial accident, police stated.
The South Brunswick Building Department ruled the structure needed to be closed pending a detailed examination.
The building was damaged to the point it can’t be used but everyone eating was able to walk away.”
