According to a Nassau County District Attorney’s Office press release, Giovanny Campos, 50, has been indicted on charges of kidnapping, rape, criminal sex acts, and reckless endangerment. On Thursday, he pleaded not guilty before state Supreme Court Judge Robert McDonald.
Police say Campos was an employee of the Cheese Bus, Inc., and drove a route from Central High School to North High School in Valley Stream. From January to July, Campos allegedly raped the victim multiple times.
Officers with the Nassau County Police Department Special Victims arrested Campos on September 28. He has since pleaded not guilty to the charges.
“The defendant raped the child multiple times, including in a parking lot while still on the bus,” prosecutors wrote. “The defendant also transported the teenager to his apartment in Jamaica, Queens, to engage in sexual acts with her.”
News 12 reports that Ezra Law, a firm representing the bus company, said that Campos is no longer employed with Cheese Bus, Inc.
