Broken Arrow Police sent out this statement today about school firearms arrest:
The Broken Arrow Police Department responded to the Broken Arrow High School to assist campus security in reference to a reported student in possession of a firearm.
School administrators received information that a juvenile had brought a firearm to school in his car.
Campus security followed up on the information, quickly locating the student and his vehicle.
A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered a handgun and ammunition concealed in the car.
A 17-year old juvenile male was detained and later arrested by the Broken Arrow Police Department.
He is to be booked into the Juvenile Bureau of the District Court of Tulsa.
There was no evidence of any imminent threat or danger to students, staff, or the general public.

Due to the suspect’s age, no further information will be released.
