RawNews1st – A woman was charged on the same day with 2 different felony cases in Tulsa County.
The affidavit says Britney Sands was charged January 3rd with 8 counts of uttering a forged instrument.
She was also charged January 3rd with uttering a forged instrument and receiving stolen property.
The affidavit says Sands is accused of cashing stolen checks at several different banks at least 7 different times.
The affidavit says:
August 5: she cashed a check for $4,500. The victim said it had been stolen from his house.
August 10: cashed a check for $3,500. Victim had mailed it at a blue mailbox in Bixby to pay a bill.
August 21: cashed a check for $2,765. Victim had mailed it in a blue mailbox in Glenpool to pay a bill.
September 2: cashed a check for $900. Victim had mailed it to pay a bill.
September 5: cashed a check for $944. Victim had mailed it at a blue mailbox at 1700 S. Yale to pay a bill.
September 6: cashed a check for $3,000. Victim had mailed it at a blue mailbox in Glenpool to pay a bill.
It says in a couple of the cases, the teller suspected the check had been “washed” or the signature wasn’t correct, to they went to verify it and she left the bank and left the check behind.
Records show she was also charged in October in Wagoner County with misdemeanor uttering a forged instrument.
