Britain faces chilling winter as gas prices rise 37% IN ONE DAY to record levels
UK gas prices hit new record highs on Wednesday, marking a 600% leap this year alone, as average energy bills look set to rise £1,700 annually by April.
The cheapest fixed gas & electricity bill available was £1,700 – up from £1,177 just a month ago – while Britons can expect to pay an extra £1,800 for other essentials by Christmas.
Investment experts Moody’s predicted more energy firms will go under, forcing many onto more expensive tariffs.
