Fox59 – A 36-year-old man who was viciously stabbed to death by a Bloomington woman while getting into the shower last month has died at an Indianapolis hospital, authorities confirm.
Briley Shayne Turner, 25, was arrested on Aug. 18 in connection with the stabbing. She was charged by the Monroe County Prosecutor’s Office with one count of attempted murder, a Level 1 felony, in addition to one count of aggravated battery, a Level 3 felony.
Previous reports detail the vicious assault that occurred on Aug. 18. Neighbors heard screaming coming from the Kinser Flats apartment complex shortly before 7 p.m.
Responding police officers ended up busting down a door where they found Turner lying on the couch covered in blood.
But she had no wounds.
On the bathroom floor, police found 36-year-old Michael Ray Hodge bleeding profusely from multiple stab wounds.
Investigators ultimately concluded that Hodge was hit with a baseball bat before being stabbed at least nine times with a knife and a “tire plug tool with a metal spike on it.”
