Bilal Yusuf-Muhammad Abdullah Jr., 36, of Baltimore, was shot and killed by police on June 17 in the area of Pennsylvania Avenue and Laurens Street.

He died hours later at Shock Trauma, according to the Maryland Attorney General’s Independent Investigations Division.

Baltimore police on Monday showed body-worn camera video less than a week after officers shot and killed an arabber who they said shot at them.

Baltimore Police Commissioner Rich Worley said the department showed the video to the family, shared it with state investigators and is releasing it Monday in an effort to demonstrate transparency about the events leading up to the shooting.

“We understand that any use of force by law enforcement leads to a high level of public concern and possible criticism,” Worley said.

“I recognize that emotions are high with the loss of a cherished member of the community. Use of force is never a first resort.”
