Suspects: Latasha Jean Taylor, 38, of Clarksville, TN, charged in warrants with second-degree robbery, felony receiving stolen property and second-degree disorderly conduct
Marissa L. Hicks, 25, of Hopkinsville, KY, charged in warrants with felony receiving stolen property.
Paducah police have obtained warrants charging one woman in connection to an incident Friday afternoon at a store near Kentucky Oaks Mall, and a second woman who was with her in a stolen vehicle.
Police were called about 4:30 p.m. Friday after a woman came into the store and handed a cashier a note that said the cashier needed to give the woman cash or a man who was “holding her hostage” would shoot someone.
The woman left the store when officers were called.
Multiple officers searched the area, including businesses nearby and on the other side of Hinkleville Road, and were unable to locate the woman or evidence to support her story.
Through their ongoing investigation, Paducah police detectives have identified the woman and a companion with whom she apparently was staying at a motel near the store.
They are Latasha Jean Taylor and Marissa L. Hicks. Taylor is charged with second-degree robbery for the incident at the store; she and Hicks both are charged with possession of a vehicle stolen from Clarksville.
Taylor currently is out on bond after being arrested in Tennessee; Hicks is charged in a warrant from Florida with probation violation.
Anyone with information about the women’s whereabouts is asked to call the Paducah Police Department at 270/444-8550.
