The Louisville Water company has issued a boil water advisory for parts of east Jefferson County due to a damaged water main.
Officials with the water company said it affects around 2,000 water customers in an area east of Floyds Fork.
Louisville Water said that the advisory is only precautionary because of a sudden loss in water pressure due to a damaged main along Clark Station Road.
Officials say that affected customers should:
- Bring all water used for consumption to a rolling boil for three minutes before consumption.
- Do not use chilled water lines on refrigerators.
- Do not use ice from automatic ice machines. Once the advisory is lifted, dispose of two cycles of ice before use.
Customers are also told to check Louisville Water’s website for updates.
