At around noon on Tuesday, a body was pulled from the ocean in the area of the search for Ferrara, CBS 13 reported. The identity of the body had not been publicly confirmed. Ferrara was last seen leaving his home on Flying Point Road heading toward Brunswick around 4:30 p.m. last Thursday. An extensive search of the Freeport area commenced over the weekend.
The cafeteria at Freeport High School will remain open for students to gather until 9 p.m. Crews spent days searching the Freeport area for the teenager, posting flyers and using drones.
Over the weekend, Freeport police Chief Nathaniel Goodman said dozens of people reached out to the agency asking about ways to help.
On Monday, mothers from the area printed out flyers with Ferrara’s information, gathering outside the Freeport Community Center to share remarks.
