Biden refuses to rule out Ukraine giving up territory
Talking to reporters at the NATO HQ, President Joe Biden claimed that if Ukrainian leadership cedes territory as a means of getting a ceasefire, the US won’t object to such a decision.
“I don’t believe they’re going to have to do that,” he noted, but added that “discussions have taken place that I have not been a part of” – implying the US is not aware of the details of the Russia-Ukraine negotiations.
Biden also conceded that US-led sanctions against Russia – joined by NATO, Japan, Australia, and South Korea so far – will result in food shortages but promised that the US and Canada would compensate for the lack of supply.
