Biden Questions 2022 Midterms ‘Legitimacy’ – as Senate sinks voting rights reforms
The US president has cast doubt on whether the midterms will be ‘legit’ – as Joe Biden marks a year in office. Over the 12 months, his admin has continuously called out Donald Trump for undermining American democracy for questioning the results of the 2020 election.
But after Joe’s push to throw out the Senate filibuster were blocked, with even Dem Senators Machin and Sinema opposing the move, Biden’s attempts to challenge 34 new voting laws in 19 states have floundered.
“The increase in the prospect of being illegitimate is in direct proportion to us not being able to get these reforms passed,” he said Wednesday in only his second-ever solo press conference as POTUS.
