Biden Administration in talks to offer immigrant families separated at the border $450K a person compensation
The Depts. of Justice, Homeland Security and Health and Human Services are considering payments that could amount to $1 million a family, according to people familiar with the matter.
Several agencies are working to resolve lawsuits filed by parents saying the govt. subjected them to lasting psychological trauma when families were split up after they crossed the border illegally, the people told the WSJ.
The total potential payout could reach around $1 billion.
