A bank robbery suspect in South Carolina was arrested at a strip club about an hour away from the bank he was accused of robbing, according to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office.
Greenwood police said the Wells Fargo bank across from the Greenwood Mall was robbed just before 10 a.m. Wednesday.
According to police, the suspect, later identified as 50-year-old Charles Michael Edenfield entered the bank and handed a note to the teller demanding money.
Edenfield was given an undisclosed amount of cash and he left the location, police said.
Around 12:05 a.m. Thursday, Greenville County deputies announced they arrested Edenfield while assisting Greenwood police with the search.
They said he was arrested at Lust, a strip club on Transit Drive in Greenville.
The Greenville County Detention Center website said Edenfield was charged with possession of meth and possession of marijuana.
