RawNews1st – At approximately 2:34 p.m. officers responded to 1440 Mercy Drive in reference to a large group of people fighting with shots fired in the courtyard at Jernigan Gardens Apartments.
Three individuals on scene were struck by gunfire and sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
A fourth gunshot victim was transported to ORMC and was declared deceased by medical staff there. The homicide victim has been identified as Macayla Queen Patterson (22yoa B/F)
Also on September 22, 2023, Delray Shundale Duncan Junior (23yoa B/M) was arrested for Attempted Homicide and First Degree Felony Murder in connection to this shooting.
This investigation is still ongoing.Â
