At least eight people were shot in six separate shootings in a violent 24 hours in Milwaukee. Three of those shootings were fatal.
Most recently, just before 6 p.m. Saturday, a 24-year-old man was shot near 6th Street and Wisconsin Avenue and transported to the hospital, where he is expected to survive, according to Milwaukee police. Police arrested a 24-year-old man in the case.
Early Saturday morning at about 5:30, Milwaukee police say a 17-year-old girl was fatally shot near 44th Street and Hampton Avenue. Police say she died near 49th Street and Parkway.
In a news release late Saturday night, police confirmed a second 17-year-old was also hurt in the shooting.
Police said she is expected to survive. They have not made any arrests in the case.
Near Water Street and Highland Avenue, at just after 2:30 a.m. Saturday, a 21-year-old man was found dead outside of a car.
Milwaukee police confirmed that the man was the victim of another fatal shooting.
They have not made any arrests in the case.
