Aiden Fucci, now 18, has lost his appeal challenging the life sentence he received for the brutal 2021 murder of 13-year-old Tristyn Bailey.

At just 14 years old, Fucci killed his classmate, leaving her body in a wooded area over Mother’s Day weekend.

In a decision this spring, the appellate court upheld the original ruling, agreeing that Fucci had lured Tristyn into the woods, stabbed her more than 100 times, and caused 49 defensive wounds as she fought back. The court noted the killing stemmed from his desire to murder someone and watch them die.

Although the appeals court affirmed both the conviction and the life sentence handed down in 2023, it found a minor error in the fees imposed. The court pointed out that the law allows only a $50 public defender application fee, not the $100 the trial court had ordered.

As a result, the case was sent back to the lower court for the sole purpose of correcting the fee amount on the official judgment. Fucci remains sentenced to life in prison, with eligibility for review after 25 years.
