Elyria Police officers responded to a report of shots fired at an apartment complex located at 283 Washington Ave.
Upon arrival, officers located two victims with gunshot wounds.
Officers provided initial life-saving measures and Lifecare and Elyria Fire was summoned to the scene. Both victims were initially transported to University Hospital-Elyria.
A 22 year-old male victim later died at the hospital. A 21 year-old female victim was later life-flighted to Cleveland Metro Hospital and is in serious condition.
The victim’s names are not being released at this time.
Preliminary investigation revealed a disturbance occurred inside an apartment shortly before the shooting.
Arrest warrants were issued for Chi Sean Oglesby, 21, of Elyria in connection to the shooting incident.
Shortly after 9:00 p.m. Detectives from Elyria PD along with officers from East Cleveland PD located Oglesby in the 1800 block of Farmington Ave in East Cleveland.
Oglesby was taken into custody without incident and later transported to the Lorain County Jail where he was held without bond pending his initial appearance in court.
The Elyria Police Department is actively investigating this incident.
