(Fayetteville, NC) – On September 7, 2024, James Michael Gonzales II, (White male, 23 years old) of Fayetteville, NC, was arrested on multiple felony charges.
Officers with the Fayetteville Police Department received information on September 7, 2024, which led to the positive identification of Gonzales as the suspect in two armed robberies of Circle K service stations at 3115 Murchison Road on September 5, 2024, and 1135 Pamalee Drive on September 6, 2024. Gonzales was located at a local residence in Fayetteville.
Officers responded to the residence along the 1500 block of Banbury Drive to follow up on the information and observed Gonzales at the front door of the residence, where he quickly entered and attempted to flee out the back.
Officers had set up a perimeter to prevent his escape, and Gonzales then retreated into the residence and barricaded himself inside.
Officers maintained the perimeter while Fayetteville Police Department Crisis Negotiators communicated with Gonzales, and the Fayetteville Police Department Emergency Response Team conducted call-out procedures. Gonzales was taken into custody without incident.
No injuries or property damage occurred during the arrest.
Gonzales was charged with the following:
Two counts of Felony Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon
Two counts of Felony Breaking and Entering
Two counts of Felony Possession of Stolen Goods
Gonzales is being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center where he received no bond.
