On Friday, September 6, 2024, at 2:59 p.m., Senior Sergeant Hamlett, assigned to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit, performed a traffic stop on a silver Kia Sedona van on Interstate 95 North, near mile marker 44, for impeding traffic and suspicion of impaired driving as the vehicle was traveling at approximately 50 MPH in a 70 MPH zone.
Upon approach to the vehicle, Senior Sergeant Hamlett smelled a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle.
When asked, the driver consented to a search of the vehicle. As a result of the search, the following items were located and seized:
Approximately thirty-one (31) pounds of Cocaine, 3,429.52 grams of MDMA pills, 4.5 pounds of marijuana and four (4) firearms.
One (1) of the firearms was reported as stolen. Additionally, an open container of alcohol was located in the vehicle.
Warrants for arrest were subsequently sought and obtained for the occupants of the vehicle, Ricky Lewis Bush, B/M (39 years of age) of Hephzibah, Georgia and Victor Anthony White, B/M (62 years of age) of Hinesville, Georgia for Trafficking MDMA by Possession, Trafficking MDMA by Manufacturing, Trafficking MDMA by Transport, Trafficking in Cocaine by Possession, Trafficking in Cocaine by Manufacturing, Trafficking in Cocaine by Transport, PWIMSD Marijuana, Manufacturing Marijuana, Maintaining a Vehicle for the sale of Controlled Substances, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Conspiracy and Possession of a Firearm by Felon.
Bush and White were booked into the Cumberland County Detention Center.
Both of them were given a $750,000.00 secure bond, and their first appearance is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Monday, September 9, 2024.
