Charleston – Armed Suspect kills WV K9, Police return fire killing the suspect

Based on scanner traffic, police may have been responding to a domestic situation involving a gun, and that the suspect was shot in the head after the shooting/shootout. Police have not yet confirmed anything.

UPDATE (8:14am): Police identify the K9 as Axel. RIP Axel

Suspect approached a 64-year-old male in a wheelchair and forcibly removed cash

Charleston Police Department were responding to a call when the suspect reportedly left the residence they were responding to.

While pursuing the suspect, police reportedly dispatched a K9 to apprehend the suspect.

Police say the suspect opened fire, killing the K9, before officers returned fire killing the suspect. Prayers for everyone involved.
