Armed robber forces employees in freezer, takes off with cash
The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery that occurred shortly before 2 p.m.
Friday at the EZ Food Mart, located in the 2000 block of S. US 1.
The Sheriff’s Office is currently searching for the suspect.
The suspect is described as a black male wearing shorts, a camo hooded sweatshirt, and a mask.
He brandished a firearm and threatened to kill the employees. He then fled the store with an undisclosed amount of money.
The area is an active scene. Drivers and pedestrians should use caution while in the area.
