Perez, 32, came into tonight with a 3-0 professional record. The Florida native has previously fought on a Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) card, but this is by far his most high-profile event to date.
Perez was matched up against the inexperienced Dane Guerrero, who came into this fight with a record of 0-0-1.
Not much to write home about. It was supposed to be showcase performance for “Golden Hulk” and that’s exactly what happened.
Perez was able to end the “Prelims” affair in the third round with a blistering combination that put Guerrero on his heels.
That’s when Perez launched a final right hand that sent Guerrero crashing to the canvas and down for the count.
It was a pretty impressive finish and a great way to spark a boxing card full of fun matchups.
