Morgan, 33, of Lindenwold, was arrested Wednesday, police said, and charged with first-degree attempted murder and second-degree counts of possession of a weapon or an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon without a permit and certain persons not to have a weapon because of a prior conviction.
The 40-year-old victim was arguing with another man outdoors on Dec. 21 when he was shot multiple times on West Adams Street, according to a criminal complaint. The victim was treated for his injuries and later released from the hospital. Morgan was placed in Salem County Correctional Facility pending a detention hearing.
A Paulsboro police captain was leaving the police department shortly before 8 a.m. when he heard multiple gunshots from nearby Adams Street, according to court documents.
Investigators located surveillance video that showed the altercation between that man and Morgan, according to police.
