
On December 20, 2024 at about 10 p.m., police say they responded to a deadly stabbing took place on the 300 block of North Soldano Avenue in Azusa, California. Upon arrival, officers found a girl suffering from multiple stab wounds. She was transported to a local hospital, where she later died.
The victim was identified as 17-year-old Angelina Camillia Gonzales.
Family members said the suspect picked her up from a cheerleading banquet and brought her back to his house. Her stepfather then tracked her cell phone location.
Angelina Gonzales was allegedly stabbed by 18-year-old Daniel Rodriguez, an ex-boyfriend.
Rodriguez faces a murder charge, along with an allegation of the use of a deadly weapon. He remains jailed in lieu of $2 million bail and is scheduled to be arraigned on January 8, 2025.
The motive for the attack is still under investigation.
