Anders was arrested and charged with r Vehicular Homicide, Police say

On November 11, 2025 after 7:00 a.m., police say officers responded to the 300 block of Spartan Loop in Slidell, Louisiana in reference to a vehicle that struck a 5-year-old child in a driveway.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the child was in the driveway of their home – preparing to leave for school and waiting for the school bus. The child was positioned in front of his grandmother’s 2016 GMC Yukon, which was backed into the driveway. The grandmother, who did not know the child outside, proceeded to leave for work and drove forward out of the driveway, at which time, fatally ran over the child.
As part of any serious crash investigation, Slidell PD traffic fatality investigators check for impairment of the driver. When the officer began checking the grandmother, who was identified as, 55-year-old, Kristen Anders, exhibited signs of impairment. The officer conducting the tests happens to be a DRE, Drug Recognition Expert, who are highly trained investigators to identify any signs of impairment.
It was determined that Anders was under the influence of alcohol and central nervous system depressants.
Anders was arrested and charged with r Vehicular Homicide.
