An investigation is underway after the body of an unidentified person was found in the river at Third Creek Greenway tonight. The body was discovered by a passerby at around 6:20 p.m.
Knoxville Fire Department personnel responded to the scene to assist in recovering the body from the waterway.
Knoxville Police Department detectives responded to the scene and are in the early stages of their investigation into the death at this time.
