(GREENVILLE, SC)- An Amber Alert has been cancelled following the recovery of an 8-month-old baby girl. Deputies with the GCSO have located the baby who was taken earlier this morning during the the commission of a vehicle theft.
Deputies state the child was left inside of black 2013 Nissan Altima while the child’s father went inside the QT, located at White Horse and Grove Roads.
The suspect, whose picture is provided, was observed walking across the parking lot of the QT, getting into the car and driving away.
Following the issuance of an Amber Alert and the Greenville County Search and Rescue, the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a call just before 7:00 A.M.stating a baby was found in a carseat, in front of a business, located at 22 Garlington Road.
Investigators later learned the baby had been dropped off at around 4:04 A.M. The child is okay and was sleeping when deputies arrived.
As a precaution, the baby, who has been reunited with her family, was transported to the hospital for an evaluation.
Sheriff Lewis praised the deputies and community for their response and swift action, “I am so thankful that this young child was safely recovered and for the community member who called this information in right away.
Please, I can not reiterate enough, please think twice about leaving your children in vehicles that are unattended.
Highland Park woman was shot to death in broad daylight
The suspect remains at large, along with the stolen vehicle. The vehicle is a black, 2013 Nissan Altima with a “NumberOne Auto Sales” tag displayed.
Investigators ask for anyone who sees this suspect or vehicle to call 911 or Crime Stoppers of Greenville at 23-CRIME.
