On Friday, the Atlanta Police Department confirmed that the shooting suspect had died.

Earlier Friday, an alert from Emory University went out advising of an “active shooter” at the CVS on campus.

Police sources told FOX 5 that the alleged shooter at the Emory University Atlanta campus has died. One officer was transported to Emory Hospital and another civilian was reportedly injured.

Detectives have provided details about the person who they say opened fire inside a CVS store at Emory University’s Atlanta campus on Friday.

Rawnews.net published a blog earlier about this situation with a update source on X.

Police Chief Darin Schierbaum said the suspect was located on the second floor of the CVS building and had fired multiple rounds.

He was found with gunshot wounds and pronounced dead at the scene. It remains unclear whether the injuries were self-inflicted or caused by police.

There was also a white car found at the scene, but police could not confirm whether this was linked to the shooter.

It is currently considered part of the crime scene and is being investigated.
