All-time Covid record for UK – 1 in 13 positive last week
Covid infection rates in the UK have hit their all-time high as official figures estimate 4.6mn had Covid last week, or 1 in every 13 people (up from 1 in 16 the week before), just as free testing ends.
From Friday citizens will have to buy their own tests on the high street, which means the country has to “rely on the public to actually do the right thing and get these tests themselves”, according to Professor Tim Spector.
