Alabama center Charles Bediako is no longer eligible to play college basketball

Alabama men’s basketball center Charles Bediako was denied an injunction Monday against the NCAA in his ongoing lawsuit against the organization that he filed last month, meaning he is now ineligible to play.
Bediako appeared in Tuscaloosa County court Friday morning when judge Daniel Pruet heard arguments from Bediako’s attorney David Holt and NCAA attorney Taylor Askew. Pruet did not immediately issue a ruling from the bench about the injunction, which was the second request from Bediako’s attorneys after they successfully secured a temporary restraining order last month from now-recused judge Jim Roberts that allowed Bediako to recently play.
The temporary restraining order was set to expire Tuesday by the NCAA’s contention but February 18 by Bediako’s attorneys’ contention.
During his brief return, Bediako played in five games for Alabama, averaging 10 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks.
