Mike Batayeh, known to Breaking Bad fans for his role in the fourth and fifth seasons of the AMC drama series, has passed away.
Deadline reports that Batayeh died in his sleep of a heart attack on June 1 while at home in Michigan, and according to his sister, his passing came as a surprise as he had no prior history of heart issues.
He was 52 years old.
“It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that my sisters and I announce the passing of our dear brother,” a statement from the family reads. “He will be greatly missed by those who loved him and his great ability to bring laughter and joy to so many.”
Batayeh may be best known for his recurring role in Breaking Bad.
He first appears in the show’s fourth season, playing the role of Dennis Markowski, the manager of Gus Fring’s (Giancarlo Esposito) Lavanderia Brillante laundromat in Albuquerque.
The laundromat is used as a cover for a hidden meth lab where Walter White (Bryan Cranston) and Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) cook their product.
