Active Shooter situation after shots fired at Fox 13 news building forcing everyone to evacuate in Memphis, Tennessee.
Police have cordoned off an area of South Highland Street near the University of Memphis, where shots were reportedly fired. Businesses near Highland and Walker Avenue have been placed on lockdown as a precaution.
According to Fox 13, a shot was fired inside their lobby, but no one was hurt. The incident was reported to the police at around 11:30 a.m. as an “active shooter situation” near Highland and Midland Avenue.
The Memphis police department has confirmed that the armed person is currently sheltered inside Ubee’s.
Agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) are also present at the scene. Everyone in the area is advised to take shelter indoors.
