An “active shooter incident” sparked a large police response in north Evergreen on Thursday night and sheriff’s officials said one person was dead after shooting themselves.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported the shooting in the 32000 block of Ellingwood Trail at 5:14 p.m. and said there were “no known victims” as of 5:25 p.m.
