RawNews1st – A woman was slain and a boy was injured in a drive-by shooting Friday night in the city’s Jeffery Manor neighborhood.
The 42-year-old woman and 14-year-old boy were walking through a parking lot in the Jeffery Manor neighborhood around 8:24 p.m. when a black SUV approached them and an unknown individual fired shots at them.
The woman was wounded in the hip and was sent to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition. A short time later, she was pronounced dead.
The youngster was shot in the shoulder and was sent to Comers Children’s Hospital in good condition.
No one is in jail, and the event is being investigated by police.
