A woman was shot and taken to the hospital in the Chatham neighborhood on Sunday night.
Around 7:50 p.m., the 25-year-old was sitting in a vehicle in the 7900 block of South Lafayette Avenue when someone in a dark-colored sedan began shooting, according to police.
According to police, the woman was shot in the torso and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center. Officials said she was in fair condition.
As Area Two detectives conduct their investigation, no one is in custody.
