In West Garfield Park on Friday night, a woman was shot and an 8-year-old boy was grazed.
Police were called to the 4100 block of West Adams at 8:01 p.m. for a report of a person shot.
When police arrived, they discovered a 42-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to her ankle and an 8-year-old boy with a graze wound to his leg.
Both victims were transported in good condition to a nearby hospital.
The victims were outside at the time of the incident but were unable to provide further details.
Nobody is being held. Area Four detectives are looking into it.
