A woman faces charges in a fatal hit and run accident, police say
At approximately 11:01 p.m., detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Traffic Unit responded to the area of Robeson Street and Whitfield Street in reference to a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on scene by medical personnel. The investigation has revealed that the vehicle left the roadway to the right and struck the victim who was walking on the sidewalk.
The driver was located by officers as the vehicle stalled after it was fleeing the scene with a child passenger inside.
The victim in this case has been identified as Angel Rodriguez, H/M, 41 years old, 700 block of Robeson St., Fayetteville, NC. His family has been notified.
An arrest has been made for this incident. Angela Cheveena Harrington, B/F, 37 years old, 900 block of Gillis St., Fayetteville, NC in reference to this incident.
Harrington was charged with:
Death by Motor Vehicle (F)
Hit and Run (F)
Driving While Impaired (M)
Child Abuse (M)
Failure to Maintain Lane (I)
No Operators License (I)
Harrington is being held at the Detention Center on a $105,000 bond.
