A woman allegedly walked away with another person’s child in an attempted kidnapping at a park in New York City, police said.
Jessie Pennill, a 34-year-old homeless woman, allegedly picked up a 1-year-old boy without permission and wouldn’t immediately give the child back to his parent, police said.
The parent got the child back from Pennill by physically removing the boy from her arms, according to a criminal complaint.
Pennill then allegedly picked up a 2-year-old girl and started walking toward the park’s exit while holding her, police said.
The girl’s parent got the child back after yelling at Pennill to put her down, according to a criminal complaint.
Pennill was arrested and charged with attempted kidnapping and endangering the welfare of a child, police said.
