RawNews1st – Police arrest a woman accused of stealing items from a 95 year old woman, in an assisted living center, on the same day, the victim passed away.
Police say Lestine “Woody” Upshaw fell in January and was taken to the hospital where she passed away and that same day, one of her caretakers, Rosie Franco, was caught on camera, stealing Woody’s valuables.
Woody’s family say she was a vibrant, spitfire of a woman up until the day she passed.
After she moved into an assisted living facility in 2020, they visited her everyday and put a camera in her room, for added peace of mind.
They got a notification about movement in Woody’s room and that’s when they saw the theft and it was recorded on video.
Franco was charged with felony larceny.
