California – A father who was reportedly incensed to see his daughter wearing a mask as she left her Northern California school got into a fight with a teacher and has been barred from campus, school authorities said.
The altercation happened Wednesday — the first day of school — at Sutter Creek Elementary in the Sierra foothills town of Sutter Creek.
“A parent took it upon himself to verbally assault a principal, which led to a serious physical altercation between him and a teacher as the teacher intended to protect the principal,” said a letter sent Thursday to parents by Amador County Unified superintendent Torie Gibson.
Sutter Creek police officers were called to the campus, and the teacher was taken to an emergency room for treatment of his injuries, Gibson told the Sacramento Bee.
