A summer carnival in Los Angeles turned deadly after a teen was stabbed following a fight on Saturday night.
A Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson confirmed to KTLA that the stabbing took place around 10:30 p.m. on Venice Boulevard near Keystone Avenue in L.A.’s Palms neighborhood.
At the time, the LAPD’s Pacific Area Boosters Organizers were hosting the second night of a three-night street carnival as part of the Palms Weekend Festival, which is taking place on Venice between Overland and Motor avenues.Â
Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim, only identified as a 16-year-old Hispanic boy, was involved in an altercation with multiple other teens when he was stabbed multiple times by a 15-year-old boy.
The 16-year-old was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival, police said.
The stabbing is believed to be gang-related, authorities added. Â
