President Vladimir Putin of Russia has ordered his Defense Ministry to implement a short cease-fire along the front line in Ukraine for the Russian Orthodox Christmas, the Kremlin said on Thursday.

A senior Ukrainian official dismissed the move as “hypocrisy.”
