CPD officers are responding to Burke High School, located at 244 President regarding a possible emergency situation. A call was received from another location regarding a possible active shooter at the school.
Officers are on scene and the school is locked down pursuant to normal procedure. No injured parties have been located nor any suspects. The call appears to have been a hoax. The public is advised to stay out of the area.

Additional information: In a letter to families, Boston Public Schools Superintendent Mary Skipper said the school will have a visible police presence in the coming days and that a team of social workers, as well as additional district and city staff, will be on site Wednesday providing support to students and educators, according to WCVB.
“Violence will not be tolerated in or near our schools,” Skipper said in a statement. “Our school communities are where we should be coming to celebrate the good work that’s happening each day. Today, and in the days to come, our attention turns to the students and the adults here who — directly or not — have been impacted by this horrific act of violence.”
