A man’s body was recovered from Lake Michigan near North Avenue Beach on Friday night.
According to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office, members of the Chicago Police Department’s Marine Unit and the Chicago Fire Department recovered the body of Melvin Guzman, 21, around 8:42 p.m.
When he was pulled from the water, he was unresponsive, and he was pronounced dead at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, according to police.
An investigation into the death has been launched.
