On Monday morning, a man was shot and seriously hurt in the West Town district.
Police say that at around 2:00 a.m., gunfire erupted in the 1400 block of West Chicago Avenue, striking the 36-year-old man in the chest as he was sitting in a car.
Paramedics took him to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was listed as critical, according to the police.
No one is being held in custody.
Detectives from Area Three are looking into it.
