Authorities in Buffalo Grove said Monday that they believe a man was responsible for stabbing his family to death.
Officers were called to the 2800 block of Acacia Terrace around 11:10 a.m. Wednesday to check on Vera Kisliak, 36.
When officers entered, they discovered five deceased family members.
Authorities identified the victims as Vera Kisliak, 36, Lillia Kisliak, 67, Vivian Kisliak, 6, Amilia Kisliak, 4, and Andrei Kisaliak, 39, at a press conference on Thursday afternoon. They were all killed by sharp force injuries.
A pet was also discovered dead.
Authorities in Buffalo Grove stated on Monday afternoon that evidence points to Andrei Kisaliak being responsible for the slayings. He then “inflicted wounds on himself and died as a result of those wounds.”
According to court records, there were issues in the home. Vera had an active restraining order against her husband Andrei.
