Saturday evening, a man was fatally shot in the Wrightwood neighborhood.
According to police, the 40-year-old was approached around 6:23 p.m. by someone who pulled out a handgun and began shooting in the 7900 block of South Western Avenue.
The victim was shot in the torso and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he died. The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not yet released his identity.
As detectives conduct their investigation, no one is in custody.
