A man was accused of murdering an innocent man during a robbery.
Jahiem Neloms was arrested for the murder last fall in Texas and is now back in Tulsa to face a charge of 1st degree murder.
The affidavit for Neloms, says he shot the 53 year old victim in the back of the head during a robbery in downtown Tulsa on October 27th.
That victim was Jean Paul Marquis, who volunteered at The Common Good Tulsa as a soccer coach and referee.
When he was found dead, his keys and wallet and van were missing.
The affidavit says the van was spotted on a Flock camera hours later in Fort Worth.
Officers here called officers there and they arrested Neloms leaving a library, walking back to the van.
It says he had the victim’s keys, debit card and cell phone on him and admitted to the murder and told officers where in the van, they could find the murder weapon and they did.
Records show five days earlier, on August 22nd, he pleaded guilty to having a stolen vehicle and malicious injury to property and was given a 3 year deferred sentence.
